Bitcoin is down 12% from its peak. Time to buy?

February 23, 2025

Is it time to buy Bitcoin?

No. Not yet. We would wait for Bitcoin to fall under $70,000 to consider buying again.

Bitcoin is trading at $95,635. Bitcoin is down 12% from its peak of $109,026 on January 20, 2025. Our prediction is that Bitcoin will continue losing value in the upcoming months. Our recommendation is to wait until Bitcoin loses another 25% - 30% in value before adding some (not too much) to your portfolio.

In our opinion, your Bitcoin allocation should be about 5%. Bitcoin has been volatile, but has not disappointed. Over time, and in the long run, Bitcoin promises to continue rewarding investors and speculators in the "digital gold".

If you cannot resist the fear of missing out, buying Bitcoin this week at 12% off from its peak price, would not be a horrible idea provided that you are willing to be very patient and don't panic when Bitcoin continues dropping in the coming months.

In sum, we would wait for Bitcoin to drop below $70,000 to consider adding more to the Creatix fund. We recommend that you do the same, but would not judge you if you feel that now is as good time as any to add some digital gold to your portfolio. While we believe that Bitcoin will go down in the next months, we are the first to admit that we don't know what will happen. The future has not been created yet. That is what makes life in this universe so much fun and that is what levels the playing field to some extent.

We have been wrong before like when we thought that buying the Trump Media & Technology Company (DJT) in October 2024 prior to the election would be a good idea. Maybe it was, but we did not sell on time. We're down 40% on our Trump card bet. Going back to Bitcoin, which is closely tied to the Trump and Putin "war against the U.S. dollar", your allocation should not exceed 5% of your portfolio in our opinion. It's up to you of course based on your risk tolerance, time horizon, and investing goals. Whatever you do, don't forget the #1 rule of investing, which is to stay diversified.

Now you know it.
